Over the past five years Bodydeco have worked constantly both in our regular outlets at the Penrith Rheghed Discovery Centre and The Sundance Wholefood Store in Keswick and prior to that were based in Brighton where bodydeco was first established.

Airbrush art is a new and exciting development to the services we offer. It creates colourful and vibrant bodyart, 5 day lasting realistic looking tattoos, make up and amazing nail art.

SOPHIE CHARLOTTE HAYES B.A Hons (Founder of Bodydeco)

Sophie studied Fashion Design with Marketing in London in the early eighties before working as a costume designer in the theatre. She has been drawing and designing from an early age everything from book covers, business cards, clothes, textiles, greetings cards and interiors.

She learned the Art of Menhdi (Henna Bodyart) in Brighton in the 1990's finding it to be an exciting and fulfilling art form which involved creating art on living, breathing beings! All the work is done freehand which means she can create anything the clients imagination conjures up!

Henna Bodyart then naturally led on to learning the Art of Hairwrapping which involved creating unique pieces of art in the hair and Face Painting which are both very interactive and unique forms of body ornamentation.

Sophie has written guides and design manuals on Henna Bodyart and Hair Wrapping and has recently had a book on Bodyart published in the United States by North Light Books and in the UK by Fair Winds Press. She has currently launched a Face Painting Book.
